The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct a competitive examination for the recruitment of Multi-Tasking Staff (Non-Technical) in Pay Level-1 as per the 7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix. This is a General Central Service Group ‘C’, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in various Ministries, Departments, and Offices of the Government of India, as well as in various Constitutional Bodies, Statutory Bodies, and Tribunals, across different States and Union Territories.
The Commission will also recruit Havaldars (Pay Level-1) in the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) under the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance.

Qualification: Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) or equivalent from a recognized board on or before 01-08-2025.

- MTS: 18–25 years (Born between 02.08.2000 and 01.08.2007).
- Havaldar & some MTS posts: 18–27 years (Born between 02.08.1998 and 01.08.2007).

Scheme of Exam:
- MTS: Only Computer Based Exam (CBE).
- Havaldar: CBE + PET/PST (Physical Tests).
- Exam Languages: English, Hindi + 13 regional languages (Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu).

Computer Based Examination (CBE) consists of:

Evaluation Process:
- Session-I will be evaluated first.
- Session-II will be evaluated only if the candidate qualifies Session-I.
Minimum Qualifying Marks:
- UR (General): 30%
- OBC/EWS: 25%
- All other categories (SC/ST/PwBD etc.): 20%
SSC MTS & Havaldar 2025 – How to Apply?
✅Apply Online only at ssc.gov.in or through the mySSC mobile app (available on Play Store). One-Time Registration (OTR) is mandatory on the new site (old SSC OTR is not valid).
✅Use Aadhaar Authentication (optional but recommended). If done:
- No need for pre-uploaded photo/signature.
- Live photo capture will be accepted even if not perfect.
✅Live Photo Capture Instructions:
- Good lighting & plain background
- Camera at eye level
- No mask, cap, spectacles, or earphones
- Face must fit the frame properly
✅Signature Upload:
- Format: JPG/JPEG
- Size: 10–20 KB
- Dimensions: 6.0 cm x 2.0 cm
✅PwBD Candidates: Upload disability certificate as per prescribed annexures.
✅Check All Details: Use “Preview/Print” option to verify correctness of form, photo, and signature.
