Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must satisfy the applicable National Medical Commission (NMC) regulations, including the Medical Institutions (Qualifications of Faculty) Regulations, 2025 (TEQ-2025), and the NMC Undergraduate Medical Education Minimum Standard Requirements, 2023, wherever applicable.
1. Professor (Contract)
- Qualification: Academic qualification prescribed for the concerned speciality under TEQ-2025.
- Experience: Ordinarily, three years of service as Associate Professor in the concerned subject at a recognised medical institution.
- Research training: Completion of the Basic Course in Biomedical Research from a recognised medical institution.
- Medical education training: Basic Course in Medical Education, where applicable under NMC requirements.
2. Associate Professor
- Qualification: Postgraduate qualification in the concerned speciality under TEQ-2025.
- Experience: Ordinarily, four years as Assistant Professor in the concerned subject at a recognised medical institution, or five years where the candidate was directly appointed as Assistant Professor in a Government medical institution, subject to applicable rules.
- Research training: Completion of the Basic Course in Biomedical Research from an NMC-recognised institution.
- Medical education training: Compliance with the Basic Course in Medical Education requirement, where applicable.
3. Senior Resident
- Medical candidates: MD/MS/DNB in the concerned speciality or another postgraduate qualification recognised under TEQ-2025.
- Basic medical sciences: For Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology and Microbiology, the prescribed M.Sc. plus Ph.D. route may be applicable.
- Age limit: Ordinarily up to 45 years in broad specialities, with an upper age limit of 50 years for the specified departments.
4. Tutor
- Candidates possessing an MBBS degree may be eligible for appointment as Tutor, subject to applicable registration and institutional requirements.
- Valid medical registration is required, as applicable.
5. Demonstrator
- Candidates should possess an M.Sc. degree in a medical subject and a Ph.D. in the same subject.
- The qualifications must be obtained through the prescribed regular, on-campus course route from a recognised medical institution.
