Eligibility Criteria for NIC Recruitment
1. Computer Science & IT
- BE/B.Tech/DOEACC B-Level/AMIE/M.Sc/MCA/ME/M.Tech/M.Phil.
- In fields: Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Systems, Computer Application, Computer & Networking Security, Informatics, Computer Management, IT Management, Cyber Law, Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Instrumentation, Communication.
- GATE Paper Code: CS.
- Must have valid GATE 2024/2025/2026 score in CS.
2. Electronics & Communication
- BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering.
- GATE Paper Code: EC.
- Must have valid GATE 2024/2025/2026 score in EC.
3. Data Science & Artificial Intelligence
- Degree in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence or related field.
- GATE Paper Code: DA.
- Must have valid GATE 2024/2025/2026 score in D.
Application Fee
- SC/ST/PwBD/Women Candidates: Nil (No Fee).
- UR/OBC (NCL)/EWS Candidates: Rs. 800/-.
- Candidates applying for more than one discipline must pay Rs. 800/- for each discipline.
- Fee must be paid online mode only.
- Bank charges (if any) must be borne by the candidate.
- Fee payment through Cash/Demand Draft/Pay Order/Cheque/Challan is not accepted.
- Application fee is non-refundable once paid.
Selection Process
- Candidates must fulfil eligibility criteria and apply through NIC online portal.
- Eligible candidates are shortlisted for Interview/Interaction based on GATE Score.
- Shortlisting ratio is 1:5 (vacancies: candidates) discipline-wise and category-wise.
- If multiple candidates have the same GATE score, all will be shortlisted even if the ratio exceeds 1:5.
- Equal weightage is given to GATE 2024, 2025, and 2026 scores.
- Shortlisted candidates can download call letter from NIC recruitment website.
- Meeting eligibility conditions does not guarantee interview call.
- Document Verification will be done before Interview.
- Candidates must bring original documents for verification.
- Candidates not appearing for document verification will be rejected.
- Only verified eligible candidates can attend interview.
Interview Evaluation (Maximum 50 Marks)

- Communication/Presentation/Comprehension Skills
- Academic Performance
- 0.05 mark per % in essential qualification degree
- For CGPA, certificate required if conversion formula not provided by university
Minimum Qualifying Marks in Interview
- UR: 50%
- EWS/OBC/SC/ST/PwBD: 40%
- Candidates not qualifying interview will not be selected, regardless of GATE score.
Final Selection Weightage
- GATE Score: 60%
- Interview Marks: 40%
- Final merit list prepared discipline-wise and category-wise.
- Best GATE score from 2024/2025/2026 will be considered.
Tie-Breaking Rule
- Higher GATE Score ranked higher.
- Higher marks in Technical Knowledge (Interview) ranked higher.
- If still tie, older candidate ranked higher.
