Eligibility Criteria

Paper-I (Classes I–V): Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), B.El.Ed, or Special Education as per NCTE norms.

Paper-II (Classes VI–VIII): Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) OR Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year/2-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed / B.Sc.Ed / B.A.Ed) as per NCTE guidelines.

Relaxation: Relaxation up to 5% in qualifying marks in the minimum educational qualification is allowed to SC, ST, OBC, and Differently-abled candidates.

Exam Pattern & Qualifying Marks

Exam Pattern: 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) carrying 150 marks. The duration of the examination is 2.5 hours (150 minutes).

Negative Marking: There is no negative marking in the CTET examination.

Qualifying Marks: A candidate who scores 60% or more (90 out of 150 marks) is considered to have qualified CTET. School managements may provide concessions to SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates as per the applicable reservation policies.

Validity of Certificate: The CTET qualifying certificate remains valid for a lifetime for all categories.

How to Apply Online

Visit the official CTET website at ctet.nic.in.

Click on the link for Apply Online for CTET September 2026 and complete the registration process.

Enter the required personal details, educational qualifications, paper choice (Paper-I, Paper-II, or Both), and language preferences.

Upload scanned copies of the latest photograph and signature in the prescribed JPG/JPEG format and size.
-
Pay the prescribed examination fee through the available online payment mode.

Submit the application form and take a printout of the Confirmation Page for future reference.

Note: Candidates who have already applied during the earlier application window from 11.05.2026 to 10.06.2026 need not apply again.
