Age Limit
- UR: 40 years
- OBC/MOBC: 43 years
- SC/STP/STH: 45 years
- Age relaxation applicable as per government rules.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Graduate/Post Graduate in Law (LLB/LLM) or Doctorate in Law from any recognized University in India.
- Candidates practicing at the Bar or having professional experience or legal publications will get preference.
- Must have a valid Employment Exchange Registration Number in Assam.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of 2 stages:
Stage-I Written Examination (120 Marks)
Objective type test (OMR based) of 2 hours duration covering:
- English – 30 marks
- General Knowledge – 10 marks
- General Aptitude – 10 marks
- Law Subject – 50 marks
- Assamese Language – 20 marks
Candidates must score at least 40% (8 marks) in Assamese language to qualify the written exam.
Stage-II Interview/Viva-Voce (30 Marks)
- Candidates shortlisted in 1:3 ratio from written exam will be called for interview.
- Minimum qualifying marks in interview: 18 marks (60%).
Final merit list will be prepared based on total marks of written exam + interview.
