Assam Rifles, Shillong has released an official notification inviting applications from eligible male and female Indian citizens to fill 95 vacancies in various sports disciplines for the posts of Rifleman/ Riflewoman (General Duty) under the Sports Quota Recruitment Rally 2026. Interested candidates may apply online from 10 January 2026 to 09 February 2026.

Rally Location:
The selection rally will be conducted as follows:
RFID-based PST: Assam Rifles Training Centre & School, Dimapur (Nagaland)
MAT & Field Trial:
- Assam Rifles Training Centre & School, Sukhovi (Nagaland) OR
- HQ DGAR, Laitkor, Shillong (Meghalaya) OR
- HQ IGAR(S), Mantripukhri, Imphal (Manipur)
Candidate reporting venues will depend on discipline and call letter instructions.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualification: Must have passed Matriculation from a recognized board.
Sports Qualification
Candidates should have participated in any of the following:
- International competitions
- National competitions
- Inter-University tournaments
- National school games
- Khelo India University Games
- Khelo India Youth Games
- Khelo India Winter Games
Age Limit
- General & OBC: 18–28 years (born between 01.01.1998 and 01.01.2008).
- SC & ST: 18–33 years (born between 01.01.1993 and 01.01.2008).
- Note: Only Matriculation or Higher Secondary certificate will be accepted as proof of age.
Pay Scale: Salary and allowances will be provided as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (7th CPC) for Assam Rifles personnel.
Selection Process
(a) Candidate Verification:
Only candidates with a valid call letter and a photo ID (such as Voter ID, Driving License, or Aadhaar Card) will be allowed to enter the recruitment rally venue.
(b) Initial Documentation:
Candidates must undergo document verification, where they must present original certificates related to age, educational qualification, caste (if claiming relaxation), sports achievements, and domicile/PRC.
(c) Tests After Verification:
Candidates who are found eligible after verification and documentation will proceed to the RFID-based Physical Standard Test, Medical Assessment Test (MAT), and Field Trial.
Physical Standard Test (PST)
PST will be conducted using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification Devices). Required standards:

- Female: Height 157 cm
- Chest (Male Only): 80–85 cm (minimum expansion 5 cm)
