Income Tax, Mumbai has released a notification for the recruitment of Meritorious Sportspersons for the posts of Stenographer Grade-II, Tax Assistant, and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) for the year 2025. The online application process will start on 07 January 2026 and will remain open until 31 January 2026.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Essential Qualification
- Steno: 12th class pass or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
- Tax Assistant (TA): A Degree of a recognized University or equivalent qualification.
- Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): Matriculation or Equivalent pass.
2. Age Limit: 18 to 27 years.
3. Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India.
Selection Process
Preference-1: Represented India in international competitions.
Preference-2: Represented State/UT in national championships or National Games and won medals (up to 3rd).
Preference-3: Represented University in inter-university events and won medals (up to 3rd).
Preference-4: Represented State/UT in Khelo India Youth/Winter/Para Games and won medals (up to 3rd).
Preference-5: Represented State Schools in National School Games and won medals (up to 3rd).
Preference-6: Participated in the above levels without winning medals (same order).
Application Fee
1. Application fee: ₹200 (two hundred only).
2. Fee must be paid online; proof of payment must be attached.
3. Applications without fee payment will be rejected as incomplete.
4. No refund of fee after payment under any circumstances.
How to Apply?

- All required documents must be uploaded along with the online application.
- Only one application should be submitted; multiple applications will be rejected.
- Candidates can apply for multiple posts and sports in a single application only.

- Candidates claiming relaxation benefits must follow eligibility rules and upload valid supporting documents.
- SC/ST candidates must upload caste certificate in the prescribed Government format.
- Sports achievement certificates must be in the prescribed DoPT format, issued by competent authorities.
- Employed sportspersons in Govt/PSU must upload NOC from their current employer.
- Candidates must upload self-attested copies of:
- Proof of age (Matriculation/SSC/Aadhaar/Passport etc.)
- Educational qualification certificates
- Caste certificate (if applicable)
- Sports certificates
- Eligibility forms for sportspersons (Form 1–5, as applicable)
- PwBD certificate & UDID card (if applicable)
- NOC (if applicable)
- Aadhaar card copy
- Recent passport-size photograph
- Recruitment-related information will be sent to the candidate’s email ID.
