Indian Army Recruitment 2026: 350 SSC Posts, Apply Online
The Indian Army has issued a recruitment notification inviting applications from eligible unmarried male Engineering graduates for the Short Service Commission (SSC). The course is scheduled to begin in October 2026 at the Pre-Commissioning Training Academy (PCTA). Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications online from 07 January 2026 to 05 February 2026.

Candidates who have completed their engineering degree or are in the final year are eligible. Final-year students must submit proof of passing with all semester mark sheets by 01 Oct 2026 and provide the degree certificate within 12 weeks of the start of training at the Pre-Commissioning Training Academy. They will join on an additional bond basis to recover training costs if they fail to submit the required degree certificate. |

Age limit: For SSC (Tech)–67 Men, the age limit is 20 to 27 years as on 01 Oct 2026 (applicants must be born between 01 Oct 1999 and 31 Sep 2006, both dates inclusive).
Pay by Rank (7th CPC)
- Lieutenant: Level 10 — ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500
- Captain: Level 10B — ₹61,300 to ₹1,93,900
- Major: Level 11 — ₹69,400 to ₹2,07,200
- Lieutenant Colonel: Level 12A — ₹1,21,200 to ₹2,12,400
- Colonel: Level 13 — ₹1,30,600 to ₹2,15,900
- Brigadier: Level 13A — ₹1,39,600 to ₹2,17,600
- Major General: Level 14 — ₹1,44,200 to ₹2,18,200
- Lieutenant General (HAG Scale): Level 15 — ₹1,82,200 to ₹2,24,100
- Lieutenant General (HAG+ Scale): Level 16 — ₹2,05,400 to ₹2,24,400
- VCOAS/Army Cdr/Lieutenant General (NFSG): Level 17 — ₹2,25,000 (fixed)
- COAS: Level 18 — ₹2,50,000 (fixed)
Selection Procedure
1. Shortlisting of Applications
- Applications are shortlisted based on vacancy-to-applicant ratio for each engineering stream.
- Cut-off is based on cumulative marks up to the qualifying semester.
- Final-year students can appear provisionally if they meet semester-wise cut-off and later final cut-off after results.
2. Selection Centre Allotment
- Shortlisted candidates receive centre allotment via email.
- Candidates must choose SSB dates online (first-come-first-serve initially).
3. SSB Interview
- Only shortlisted candidates are called for SSB at: Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar.
- Two-stage process: Stage-1, then Stage-2 (only those who pass Stage-1 continue).
- SSB lasts up to 5 days; selected candidates undergo medical exam.
4. Joining the Training Academy
- Candidates who clear SSB and medicals receive joining letters based on merit and vacancy.
- After joining PCTA, SSB permission may be granted once in 1st term only for career upgrade (SSC → PC).
How to Apply?
1. Apply online only at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in
2. New users must register; existing users can log in and apply.
3. Select SSC Technical Course under Officer Entries.
4. Fill all sections correctly (Personal, Communication, Education, SSB details).
5. Use Save & Continue after each section.
6. Check the summary, ensure correctness, then click Submit.
7. Take two printouts of the application (with Roll Number) after final closure date.
8. Only one application allowed; multiple applications will be rejected.
