Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB), Itanagar has released an employment notification (Advt. No. 06/25) on its official website apssb.nic.in for the recruitment of 26 Laboratory Assistant posts in the Directorate of Forensic Science, Home Department.
Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for recruitment to various categories of Laboratory Assistant under Group “C” posts in the Directorate of Forensic Science, Home Department, against the vacancies.

Eligibility for APSSB Recruitment 2025
1. Laboratory Assistant (Ballistics)
- Qualification: B.Sc. with Physics/Mathematics/Applied Mathematics or B.Sc./M.Sc. in Forensic Science with Forensic Ballistics as one of the subjects/papers from recognized University or institute.
- Salary: Level-5 (29200-92300/-).
- Age limit: 18–35 years; relaxable for APST as per Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh rules.
2. Laboratory Assistant (Biology/Serology)
- Qualification: B.Sc. in Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Genetics, or Physical Anthropology (with Botany/Zoology as a subject) OR B.Sc./M.Sc. in Forensic Science with Forensic Biology as a subject/paper from a recognized university/institute.
- Salary: Level-5 (29200-92300/-).
- Age limit: 18–35 years; relaxable for APST as per Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh rules.
3. Laboratory Assistant (Cyber Forensics)
- Qualification: Bachelor’s degree with Physics, Computer Science, or Mathematics as one of the subjects, OR Bachelor in Computer Application, OR BE/B.Tech. in CSE, ECE, IT, or EEE, OR B.Sc./M.Sc. in Forensic Science with Cyber Forensics/Digital Forensics as a subject/paper from a recognized university/institute.
- Salary: Level-5 (29200-92300/-).
- Age limit: 18–35 years; relaxable for APST as per Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh rules.
4. Laboratory Assistant (Finger Print)
- Qualification: Bachelor’s degree with Chemistry as one of the subjects, OR B.Sc. in Forensic Science from a government-recognized university/institute.
- Salary: Level-5 (29200-92300/-).
- Age limit: 18–35 years; relaxable for APST as per Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh rules.
5. Laboratory Assistant (Forensic photography)
- Qualification: B.Sc. with Diploma in Photography from a recognized university/institute, OR B.Sc./M.Sc. in Forensic Science with Forensic Photography or Crime Scene Management/ Processing as one of the subjects/papers from a recognized university/institute.
- Salary: Level-5 (29200-92300/-).
- Age limit: 18–35 years; relaxable for APST as per Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh rules.
6. Laboratory Assistant (Narcotics)
- Qualification: B.Sc. in Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry, or Pharmacology, OR B.Sc./M.Sc. in Forensic Science with Forensic Chemistry as one of the subjects/papers from a recognized university/ institute.
- Salary: Level-5 (29200-92300/-).
- Age limit: 18–35 years; relaxable for APST as per Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh rules.
7. Laboratory Assistant (Questioned Documents)
- Qualification: B.Sc. with Physics/Chemistry as one of the subjects, OR B.Sc./M.Sc. in Forensic Science with Questioned Documents/Documents as one of the subjects/papers from a recognized university/institute.
- Salary: Level-5 (29200-92300/-).
- Age limit: 18–35 years; relaxable for APST as per Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh rules.
Other Details of APSSB Recruitment 2025
Application Fee: ₹150 for APST candidates and ₹200/- for unreserved candidates (non-refundable, payable online only). PwD candidates are exempt from the fee.

# General Awareness: 50 marks
# General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability: 50 marks
# Arithmetical & Numerical Ability: 50 marks
# Test of English Language and Comprehension: 50 marks
Centre of Exam: The examination will be conducted in the Itanagar Capital Region and Papum Pare District. The Board reserves the right to shift candidates from any centre/venue to another without providing reasons.
