SAIL MT (Technical) Notification 2025: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has issued an official employment notification for the recruitment of 124 posts of Management Trainees (Technical) in SAIL. All details related to the SAIL Recruitment 2025 are provided below.

Qualification: Degree in Engineering with 65% marks (average of all semesters, irrespective of the weightage given to any particular year/semester by the Institute/University), in any of the seven (7) Engineering Disciplines of Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical and Metallurgy.
Age limit: Upper age limit 28 years as on 05.12.2025, i.e., not born earlier than 05.12.1997.
Other Details of SAIL Recruitment
(i) Medical Standards:
Candidates should be of sound physique and free from any physical defects. The medical standards stipulate a minimum weight of 45 kg and a minimum height of 155 cm. Myopia or hypermetropia, if any, should not exceed ±4.00 in either eye, and there should be no squint or colour blindness (partial or complete). Suitable relaxation in height and weight will be given to female candidates.
In the case of persons with disabilities, only orthopedically disabled candidates with OA/OL/OAL disability (with a minimum of 40% disability) and those with dwarfism (DW) are eligible to apply.
(ii) Selection Process:
Eligible candidates will be required to appear for an Online Examination (Computer-Based Test - CBT), tentatively scheduled to be held in January 2026/February 2026, at any of the following centres: Bengaluru, Bhilai Nagar, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi/Delhi (NCR), Durgapur, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Jamshedpur, Ernakulam, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mohali, Mumbai/ Thane/Navi Mumbai/MMR, Nagpur, Patna, Prayagraj, Ranchi, Rourkela, Salem, Tiruchirappalli, Vijayawada/Guntur, Visakhapatnam, and Vadodara.
Details regarding the test centre will be mentioned in the Admit Card. No request for a change of examination centre will be entertained after final submission of the application form. However, SAIL reserves the right to cancel or add any centre depending on the number of candidates or the response received in that area.
The Online Examination will be of 200 marks, consisting of two parts:
Part I: Domain Knowledge Test – 100 marks, duration 40 minutes
Part II: Aptitude Test – 100 marks, duration 80 minutes, comprising four sections of 25 marks each:
- Quantitative Aptitude
- English Language
- Reasoning
- General Awareness
To be eligible for Group Discussion (GD) and Interview, a candidate must qualify in each part (Domain Knowledge Test and Aptitude Test) in the respective discipline by securing a minimum 50 percentile score for UR/EWS posts and 40 percentile score for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD candidates in their respective categories, among those who have applied for the post.
(iii) Training & Probation:
Candidates selected as Management Trainees (Technical) will undergo one year of training. During this period, they will be registered as Apprentices under the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961. Upon successful completion of the training, the candidates will be placed on probation for one year.
(iv) Emoluments:
The Management Trainees (Technical) will be offered a basic pay of ₹50,000/- per month in the pay scale of ₹50,000-1,60,000/-. Upon successful completion of one year of training, the Management Trainees (Technical) will be designated as Assistant Manager in E1 grade and placed in the pay scale of ₹60,000-1,80,000/-.
(v) Placement:
If selected, candidates may be posted at any Plant, Unit, or Mines location of the Company. Candidates will not be permitted to seek or apply for a transfer to any other Plant, Unit, or Mines location of the Company during the initial four years of service. For departmental candidates, this restriction will apply for the initial two years.
(vi) Application Fee:
Candidates are required to pay an application fee (including processing fee) of ₹1,050/- for General/OBC (NCL)/EWS candidates, or ₹300/- as a processing fee for SC/ST/PwBD/ESM/ Departmental candidates.
The application fee can be paid online through Net Banking, Credit Card, or ATM-cum-Debit Card. Candidates will be required to bear the bank charges, in addition to the applicable application fee or processing charge.

- Download and print the system-generated Provisional Application Form for your records.
