CSIR Technician Eligibility
- Education: 10th/SSC with Science and a minimum of 55% marks.
- Trade Qualification: Relevant ITI/National or State Trade Certificate, as prescribed for the post.
- Alternative Eligibility: Prescribed apprenticeship training or relevant work experience may be accepted for certain trades.
- Experience: Where required, experience must be acquired after obtaining the essential qualification.
Age Limit & Relaxation
- Maximum Age: 28 Years as on 17 September 2026.
- SC/ST: 5 years relaxation.
- OBC-NCL: 3 years relaxation.
- PwBD: Relaxation as per applicable Government rules.
- Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation as prescribed in the notification.
CSIR Technician Selection Process
The CSIR Technician selection process includes a qualifying Trade Test followed by a competitive written examination.
- Stage 1: Trade Test – Qualifying in nature.
- Stage 2: Competitive Written Examination.
- Paper I: Mental Ability Test – 50 questions, 100 marks, no negative marking.
- Paper II: General Awareness and English Language – 50 questions, 150 marks.
- Paper III: Trade/subject-related – 50 questions, 150 marks.
- Negative Marking: 1 mark for each wrong answer in Paper II and Paper III.
- Final Merit: Based on Paper II and Paper III marks.
