RRB JE & DMS Eligibility
1. Junior Engineer – Civil
- Qualification: Diploma/B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. in Civil Engineering or relevant Civil stream.
- Exam Group: Civil & Allied Engineering.
2. Junior Engineer – Electrical
- Qualification: Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Power Systems or related discipline.
- Exam Group: Electrical & Allied Engineering.
3. Junior Engineer – Mechanical
- Qualification: Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Automobile, Manufacturing, Mechatronics and related disciplines.
- Exam Group: Mechanical & Allied Engineering.
4. Junior Engineer – Electronics & S&T
- Qualification: Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, IT, Communication, Computer Science, Instrumentation & Control and related fields.
- Exam Group: Electronics & Allied Engineering.
5. Depot Material Superintendent (DMS)
- Qualification: Three-year Diploma in Engineering in any discipline or equivalent B.E./B.Tech degree.
- Exam Group: Candidates have to select one of the prescribed core exam groups.
Age Limit & Relaxation
- General: 18 to 33 Years as on 01 January 2027.
- SC/ST: 5 years relaxation.
- OBC-NCL: 3 years relaxation.
- PwBD: Up to 10–15 years relaxation depending on category.
- Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation as per applicable Government rules.

CBT-1 – 100 Questions, 100 Marks
- Mathematics – 30 Questions
- General Science – 30 Questions
- General Intelligence & Reasoning – 25 Questions
- General Awareness – 15 Questions
- Duration: 90 Minutes
CBT-2 – 150 Questions, 150 Marks
- Technical Abilities – 100 Questions
- General Awareness – 15 Questions
- Physics & Chemistry – 15 Questions
- Computer Basics – 10 Questions
- Environment & Pollution Control – 10 Questions
- Duration: 120 Minutes
Negative Marking: 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
