NID Jorhat Recruitment 2026: 14 Faculty & Designer Posts Apply Online

The National Institute of Design (NID), Jorhat (Assam), has released an official recruitment notification for 14 Group-A Faculty and Master Craftsman positions. Eligible design professionals can apply online through the Samarth portal.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Principal/Senior/Associate Senior Designer

Education: PG Degree or PG Diploma in Design from a recognized/reputed institution.
Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in a relevant design field.
Desirable: PhD in Design, high-caliber portfolio, and experience in academic administration or industry leadership.

2. Faculty/Designer

Education: Degree or Diploma in Design from a recognized institution.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a relevant design field.
Desirable: PG Degree/Diploma in Design and a creative academic/practice portfolio.

3. Master Craftsman (Bamboo & Cane)

Education: SSC, preferably with ITI in a relevant or allied trade, with ten (10) years of post-qualification experience in bamboo and cane crafts; OR Diploma in a relevant or allied trade, with five (5) years of post-qualification experience in bamboo and cane crafts.
Experience: Relevant experience in training or certification in bamboo/cane crafts, including large-scale craft installations or exhibition work, and experience working with MSMEs, artisan groups, or craft organizations.

How to Apply for NID Jorhat Recruitment 2026

The application process differs depending on the position you are applying for. Please follow the specific instructions below:

1. For Master Craftsman (Bamboo & Cane)

Artisans and craftspersons can apply using one of the following two methods:

Option A (Email): Send your updated resume along with photographs or a portfolio of your work samples (specifically Bamboo material) to careers@nidj.ac.in.

Option B (Post): Send physical copies of your documents and portfolio in a closed envelope. Ensure you write "Application for the post of Master Craftsman (Bamboo & Cane)" on top of the envelope.

2. For Faculty Positions (Group-A)

Applications for Principal, Senior, and Associate Senior Designers must be submitted online through the Samarth Recruitment Portal.

Step 1: Access the Portal - Visit the NID Jorhat Careers page at nidj.ac.in/careers or go directly to nidjrec.samarth.edu.in.

Step 2: Registration - Create an account using a valid email address and mobile number.

Step 3: Upload Documents - Upload self-attested scanned copies of your educational certificates, experience letters, and a high-caliber professional portfolio.

Step 4: Government Employees (NOC) - Applicants currently in Govt/PSU roles must upload a No Objection Certificate (NOC). If the NOC is delayed, you must upload a signed undertaking promising to produce the original at the time of the interview.

Step 5: Fee Payment - Complete the required application fee payment via the online payment gateway.

Step 6: Final Submission - Review all entries carefully and submit the form. Download and save the confirmation PDF for future reference.
