Department-Wise Guest Faculty Vacancies
The 105 positions are spread across multiple academic areas under different schools of NEHU. The major departments include:
- School of Economics, Management & Information Sciences: Tourism & Hotel Management, Commerce, Economics, Management, Library & Information Science, Journalism & Mass Communication and Agri-Business Management & Food Technology.
- School of Education: Adult & Continuing Education and Education.
- School of Human & Environmental Sciences: Horticulture, Geography, Geology, Forestry, Environmental Studies and Anthropology.
- School of Humanities: Linguistics, Khasi, Garo, Philosophy, Hindi and English.
- School of Life Sciences: Biochemistry, Zoology, Botany and Biotechnology & Bioinformatics.
- School of Physical Sciences: Statistics, Physics and Chemistry.
- School of Social Sciences: Cultural & Creative Studies, History & Archaeology, Social Work, Sociology, Law, Political Science and History.
- School of Technology: Architecture, Computer Applications, Nanotechnology, Information Technology, Biomedical Engineering and Basic Sciences & Social Sciences.
Who Can Apply for NEHU Guest Faculty Posts?
Candidates must meet the academic requirements prescribed for the concerned subject under the applicable UGC/AICTE norms. In general, applicants should have the required postgraduate qualification in the relevant subject along with NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D., wherever applicable.
- Relevant Subject Qualification: A Master's degree in the concerned subject with the required marks and eligibility as prescribed for the department.
- NET/SET/SLET/Ph.D.: Required wherever applicable under the prevailing academic regulations.
- Architecture: Special qualification and professional experience conditions apply.
- Specialization: Candidates should match the specialization mentioned against the particular department.
Honorarium and ToE
- Payment: ₹1,500 per lecture.
- Monthly Ceiling: Maximum ₹50,000 per month.
- Tenure: Normally for the current semester or until a regular teacher joins, whichever is earlier.
- Nature of Appointment: Purely temporary and does not create any right to regular appointment.
- Other Benefits: No DA, medical reimbursement, pension, gratuity or vacation salary is admissible.
Selection Process
NEHU will first examine the applications and prepare a shortlist based on the eligibility and suitability of candidates. Shortlisted applicants will then be called for an interview.
