Eligibility Criteria
1. Qualification: Must have passed 10+2 (Higher Secondary/Class 12).
2. Residence: Applicant must be a woman from the local village/community.
The Anganwadi Centre area and nearby areas within 2 km will be considered local.
Residence Proof:
- Aadhaar Card
- Voter ID Card
- Any valid government residence proof
Note:
- Attach a photocopy of valid residence proof with the application form.
- Newly married women must attach marriage proof and husband’s residence proof.
- Own residence proof must be submitted within 2 months.
- Aadhaar address must be updated within 2 months of joining, if required.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Anganwadi Worker
- Mobilise community participation for nutrition, health and child development.
- Use smartphone and update beneficiary details in Poshan Tracker.
- Register and track children, pregnant women and lactating mothers.
- Conduct monthly growth monitoring of children.
- Organise supplementary nutrition and meals for beneficiaries.
- Maintain food stock records and nutrition supply registers.
- Conduct pre-school and ECCE activities for children aged 3–6 years.
- Make home visits and counsel families on health and nutrition.
- Provide nutrition and health education to the community.
- Assist ANM, ASHA and PHC staff in health-related activities.
- Refer sick or vulnerable beneficiaries to health centres.
- Conduct annual family surveys and beneficiary mapping.
- Support birth registration of newborn children.
- Assist in adolescent girls’ programmes wherever applicable.
- Work as depot holder for RCH materials and kits.
- Identify and refer children with special needs.
- Organise Poshan Maah and other awareness programmes.
- Participate in Poshan Panchayat and social audit activities.
- Promote Poshan Vatika and local nutrition gardens.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and safety at the Anganwadi Centre.
- Maintain all records, registers and reports properly.
- Coordinate with schools, Panchayats and community groups.
- Perform other duties assigned under Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0.
2. Anganwadi Helper
- Cook and serve food to beneficiaries hygienically.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, utensils and cooking area.
- Clean the Anganwadi Centre premises daily.
- Support drinking water and sanitation facilities.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of children.
- Help bring children to the Anganwadi Centre regularly.
- Assist in pre-school and childcare activities.
- Help distribute Take-Home Ration and cooked meals.
- Assist during health check-ups, weighing and immunization programmes.
- Support community mobilisation and awareness activities.
- Maintain discipline, safety and care of children at the Centre.
- Assist the Anganwadi Worker in daily Anganwadi activities.
- Perform Anganwadi Worker duties in her absence, as instructed.
Facilities, Entitlements and Conditions of Engagement
- Anganwadi Worker/Helper will be engaged as honorary part-time workers.
- The post will not provide regular government employee status.
- No claim for regular salary, pension or permanent job will be allowed.
- AWW will receive ₹4,500 monthly honorarium from the Government of India.
- AWH will receive ₹2,250 monthly honorarium from the Government of India.
- Performance incentives of ₹500 for AWW and ₹250 for AWH may be provided.
- Additional State Government honorarium may be given as per rules.
- Eligible workers will get 20 days annual leave.
- Eligible workers will get 180 days paid maternity leave.
- Paid leave of 45 days for abortion/miscarriage may be allowed once.
- Social security and health schemes may be available subject to eligibility.
- Promotion opportunities will be available as per government rules.
- AWH with 5 years’ experience may be promoted to AWW.
- AWW with 5 years’ experience may be promoted to Supervisor.
- Selected candidates must attend training and capacity-building programmes.
- AWW must use Poshan Tracker and smartphone for official work.
- ₹2,000 per year internet/data support will be provided per Anganwadi Centre.
- Digital facilities must be used only for official Anganwadi work.
- Centre facilities and equipment are official property, not personal property.
- Government may change honorarium, facilities and conditions from time to time.
Selection Process
- Written exam with 50 MCQs.
- Total marks: 50.
- Duration: 2 hours.
- No negative marking.
Exam Pattern
- General Knowledge: 20 Marks
- Basic Maths: 10 Marks
- Computer & Smartphone Awareness: 20 Marks
