Educational Qualification
The required qualification varies according to the post. Candidates must possess the prescribed qualification as on 01 September 2026.
Accountant: Graduate with Intermediate pass CA/ICWA and 3 years of relevant post-qualification accounts experience.
Assistant (Accounts): B.Com degree.
Assistant (Materials): B.Sc with Chemistry/Physics/Geology with Mathematics or B.Com.
Assistant (HR): BA/B.Com/B.Sc/BBA/BBM/BSW.
Assistant (IT): BCA/BCS/BCCA/B.Sc in Computer Science, IT or Computer Applications/BISM, or Graduation with a 1-Year PG Diploma in IT/Computer Science.
Stenographer (English): Graduation in any stream with English Shorthand certificate of 80 wpm.
Assistant (Hindi): Graduation with Hindi and English as subjects, or Degree in English with Advanced Hindi examination qualification.
Technician (Survey): ITI or Diploma in Survey.
Technician (Sampling): B.Sc degree. One year sampling experience is desirable.
Technician (Drilling): ITI in EMM/Diesel Mechanic/Motor Mechanic/Fitter or Diploma in Drilling/Mechanical with valid HMV licence and one year relevant experience.
Electrician: ITI or Diploma in Electrical Engineering with valid Wireman Certificate and one year relevant experience.
Machinist: ITI in Turner/Machinist/Miller/Grinder or Diploma in Mechanical/ Production Engineering with one year shop experience.
Mechanic/Mechanic-cum-Operator (Drilling): ITI in EMM/Diesel Mechanic/ Motor Mechanic/Fitter or Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile/Drilling with one year relevant trade experience. Apprenticeship experience is admissible.
Junior Driver: 10th Pass with valid LMV and HMV driving licences and one year consolidated driving experience in light and heavy vehicles.
Candidates must generally have at least 45% marks in the prescribed degree/diploma qualification, subject to the specific requirements of the post.

The age will be calculated as on 01 September 2026. OBC-NCL candidates must have the prescribed certificate issued on or after 01 April 2026.
Pay Scale
Selected candidates will receive salary as per the applicable MECL Workman Pay Scale. The pay ranges from ₹19,600 to ₹55,900 depending on the post and pay level. Employees may also receive Industrial DA, HRA, perks and allowances, PF, NPS, medical insurance, accident insurance and other applicable benefits.
Selection Process
The selection process for MECL Non-Executive Recruitment 2026 will consist of:
- Written Competitive Examination
- Document Verification
- Qualifying Trade/Skill Test
The written examination will carry 100% weightage. The Trade/Skill Test will be qualifying in nature and no marks will be added to the final merit score.
The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of written examination marks among candidates who qualify the applicable Trade/Skill Test. The examination stages will be conducted at Nagpur City only.
