CWSSU Meghalaya Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 148 Faculty Posts

Captain Williamson Sangma State University (CWSSU), Meghalaya has released an employment notification for the recruitment of 148 vacant teaching positions (Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor) across various departments for its Tura and Shillong campuses. 1. Professor

• No. of posts: 18
• Pay Scale: ₹1,44,200/- (Basic Pay) plus DA and other allowances as per Govt. of Meghalaya rules.

2. Associate Professor

• No. of posts: 46
• Pay Scale: ₹1,31,400/- (Basic Pay) plus DA and other allowances as per Govt. of Meghalaya rules.

3. Assistant Professor

1. Professor

• An eminent scholar with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned subject and actively engaged in research.
• A minimum of 10 research publications in Peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total Research Score of 120 as per Appendix II Table 2 of UGC Regulations, 2018.
• A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in university/college as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor, or equivalent research experience.
  OR
  An outstanding professional with a Ph.D. in the concerned subject from any academic institution/industry who has made significant contribution to knowledge.

2. Associate Professor

• A good academic record with a Ph.D. degree in the concerned subject.
• A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade point scale) in the concerned subject.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in teaching and/or research in an academic/research post equivalent to that of Assistant Professor.
• A minimum of 7 publications in Peer-Reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total Research Score of 75 as per UGC Regulations, 2018.

3. Assistant Professor

• Academic Qualification: Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in the concerned subject from an Indian University or an accredited foreign University. A relaxation of 5% (55% to 50%) is applicable for SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy Layer) candidates.
• Eligibility Test: Must have cleared NET/CSIR-NET conducted by UGC-CSIR or SET-NE in the concerned subject.
• Exemption: Candidates awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009/2016 (and amendments) are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.

• General Candidates: ₹1,000/- (Rupees One Thousand only)
• ST/SC/OBC Candidates: ₹500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only)
• Payment Mode: Online through the recruitment portal. Fee once paid will not be refunded.

The recruitment process consists of two stages:

1. Shortlisting of Candidates:
   • Assistant Professor: Based on academic score as per Appendix II Table 3A of UGC Regulations, 2018 (calling ratio 1:3).
   • Associate Professor & Professor: Based on verification of minimum eligibility, API Research Score, and evaluation of publications as per Appendix II Table 2 of UGC Regulations, 2018 (calling ratio 1:5).
2. Personal Interview: Final selection will be based entirely on performance in the personal interview.

4. Pay the application fee online through the payment gateway.
