Indian Air Force Vacancy Details 2021

1. Entry Name: AFCAT Entry
No. of posts: 306 

Branch wise vacancy list

1. Flying Branch: 96 posts
2. Ground Duty (Technical) Flying Branch: 137 posts
3. Ground Duty (Non- Technical): 73 posts

Age limit: 20 to 24 years as of 01 July 2022 i.e. born between 02 July 1998 to 01 July 2002 (both dates inclusive). The upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 years i.e. born between 02 July 1996 to 01 July 2002 (both dates inclusive)

2. Entry Name: NCC Special Entry
Flying Branch: 10% seats out of CDSE vacancies for PC and 10% seats out of AFCAT vacancies for SSC.

Age limit: 20 to 26 years as of 01 July 2022 i.e. born between 02 July 1996 to 01 July 2002 (both dates inclusive).

3. Entry Name: Meteorology Entry
No of posts: 28 posts

Educational Qualification Indian Air Force AFCAT 2021

1. Flying Branch

(a) Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and (a) Graduation with a minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

OR

(b) BE/B.Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

OR

(c) Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

2. Ground Duty (Technical) Branch 

Candidates with a minimum of 60% mark each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four years degree graduation/ integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/Technology from recognized University OR cleared Sections A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (as applicable) by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the relevant disciplines.

3. Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branches

(aa) Administration & Logistics: Graduate Degree (Minimum three years degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent or cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

(ab) Accounts: B.Com Degree (Minimum three years degree course) from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

(ac) Education: MBA/ MCA or MA/MSc degree in English/Physics/Mathematics/Chemistry/ Statistics/International relations/International Studies/Defence Studies/Psychology/Computer Science/IT/Management/Mass Communication/ Journalism/Public Relation with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together in Post-Graduation (Minimum two years programme) and 60% marks in graduation, (both recognized by UGC/Competent Accreditation Authority). For integrated courses (single degree without permission to exit and lateral entry), the minimum duration must be as per prevailing UGC guidelines with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together.

4. NCC Special Entry (Flying Branch)

NCC Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ certificate acquired on or after 01 Jan 17 is mandatory. Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 60% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2. Graduates with a minimum of three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. OR BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent OR Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

5. Meteorology Entry

Post Graduate Degree in any Science stream/Mathematics/Statistics/Geography/Computer Applications/Environmental Science/ Applied Physics/ Oceanography/Meteorology/ Agricultural Meteorology/Ecology & Environment /Geo-physics/ Environmental Biology with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together (Provided Maths and Physics were studied at Graduation Level with a minimum of 55% marks in each).

How to Apply Indian Air Force AFCAT 2021

Eligible candidates are to register online through separate tabs available for AFCAT Entry/ NCC Special Entry/Meteorology Entry. Candidates eligible for one/more entries are to register separately in each entry.

Conduct of Online Testing for AFCAT Examination and Fee Structure:  Online testing will be conducted for AFCAT entry at various centers. Candidates registering for AFCAT entry will have to pay an amount of Rs. 250/- (non-refundable) as examination fee. However, candidates registering for NCC Special entry and Meteorology are not required to pay.
